“Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD. “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited”. Isaiah 54:1-3
If you want to enlarge your capacity to receive from God you must move out of your comfort zone. Believe God for something you thought was impossible. If your dreams are achievable by your own effort, you are not dreaming big enough. Abraham left what was familiar to the unfamiliar holding onto the promises of God. Can it be that the reason you are where you are today is that you have not truly left what represents your country, kindred, and father’s house as God instructed Abraham? “Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.”. Genesis 12:1-2.
Noah built the ark when it had never rained before then. He acted on the word of God that a flood is coming even when in the natural this sounded impossible. David confronted Goliath standing on the covenant promises. “Then David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, “What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”……. Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied”. 1Samuel 17:26,45. Peter walked on water standing on the word of Jesus: “And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water. So, He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus”. Matt.14:28-29 All these men had one thing in common: they left their comfort zones.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Stop looking at life through the rear-view of what has happened or did not happen in the past but through the lens of the promises of God in His word
