ENLARGE YOUR CAPACITY TO RECEIVE FROM GOD Part 13

““Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD. “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited”. Isaiah 54:1-3

Stop looking at life through the rear-view of what has happened or did not happen in the past but through the lens of the promises of God in His word. “So they rose early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” 2Chronicles 20:20. To believe the Lord our God is to see things as He sees them. We can only see things the way God sees them by looking at  His word.

Finally, if you are to enlarge your capacity to receive from God you must choose your company well.  The company you keep determines what accompanies you. “He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed”. Prov.13:20. “Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”  1Cor.15:33. The apostles stayed with Jesus and their lives were so changed that the leaders of the Jews marveled. “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus”. Acts 4:13. Here are some important tips in choosing your company:

Avoid those who are not motivated, who are not dreaming, and who have no goals.

Hang around people who will cause you to stretch your thinking and expand your borders

Learn from people who have been or are where you want to go.
