“The LORD went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and
he provided light at night with a pillar of fire. This allowed them to travel by day or by
night.” Exodus 14:21 NLT.
The presence of God guarantees abundance of joy to those that has developed intimacy
with God and learned the skills of drawing from the blessedness of His presence.
“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right
hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11
I see supernatural provision in this verse of scripture. You cannot be starving and be full
of joy. You cannot be homeless and be full of joy.
“They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of
delights.” Psalm 36:8 (NIV).
In the Old Testament the house of God housed the presence of God. Therefore, this
verse can also read that “they feast of the abundance of your presence”. The preceding
verse tells us who this blessing refers to.
“How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your
wings.” Psalm 36:7. Those who come and dwell in God’s presence can partake of the
abundance of His presence. There is not only abundance in God’s presence but it is His
will and desire that we partake of this abundance.
“If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, And their years in
pleasures.” Job 36:11
Not only is it the will of God that His children be fully provided for but it gives him
pleasure to see His children prosper.
“Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; And let them say
continually, “Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His
servant.” Psalm 35:27
