“The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.” Psalm 23:1(NLT) Romans 12:1-2 explains two important things that are necessary for knowing the will or leading of God in your life after you have been born again. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Rom.12:1-2 The first thing is to present your body as a living sacrifice to God. This means that though you are alive you have surrendered yourself to obey the will and leading of God in every area of your life no matter the cost and even when it does not make human sense. It means also a willingness and readiness to yield every member of your body to God to use as an instrument of righteousness. “Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So, use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.” Rom.6:13 (NLT). God cannot trust any area of our lives or anything that is not yielded to Him. “Now while he was in Jerusalem at the Passover Festival, many people saw the signs he was performing and believed in his name. But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all people. He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person.” John 2:23-25. He knows when we are truly yielded to Him and unequivocally committed to submitting to His leading. This will be increasingly easy to do the more we meditate on His love for us and the fact that He knows far more than we do. He means well to us even when it does not appear so on the surface. He knows the end from the beginning. If we combine His love and foreknowledge, it becomes easy to follow His leading because it will ultimately end in a glorious outcome. “The LORD confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.” Psalm 25:14
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK You can either surrender to your circumstances, or you can surrender to a cause that is so great your circumstances won’t matter. When you surrender to your circumstances you have good days and bad days. You are at the mercy of what happens to you. When you surrender to a cause or purpose you have good days wherever you go, the purpose never dies.
