ENLARGE YOUR CAPACITY TO RECEIVE FROM GOD Part 8

Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD. “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited”. Isaiah 54:1-3

Another way of enlarging your capacity to receive from God is by intentional giving. By intentional I mean giving with the understanding that giving is a seed that will yield harvest if it is sown correctly. Correct sowing means doing it in a biblical way. This means that it must be done to attract attention to God and not to yourself. “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise, you have no reward from your Father in heaven” Matt.6:1. Giving the biblical way also means giving willingly and cheerfully and not out of compulsion or grudgingly. “You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” 2Cor.9:7 (NLT). Sowing the biblical way also means sowing in the good soil. “But others fell on good ground, sprang up, and yielded a crop a hundredfold.” When He had said these things He cried, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” Luke 8:8

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth”. Colossians 3:1-2

Wisdom demands that you give up what you cannot keep to gain what you cannot lose.
