ENLARGE YOUR CAPACITY TO RECEIVE FROM GOD Part 6

“Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD. “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited”. Isaiah 54:1-3

When Abraham was advanced in age and the promise of God to him that he will have children was increasingly becoming far-fetched from the natural point of view, God appeared to him. God brought him outside and asked him to look at the stars. When he has looked on the stars, God told him that as numerous as these stars are so shall his seed be. God was giving him a vision board. I could imagine Abraham coming out every evening and looking up to the stars. As he was doing this his faith was being strengthened. “Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness”. Genesis 15:5-6.

Jacob was another example of how the vision board works. In Genesis 30 we read how Jacob struck a deal with his father-in-law, Laban. Under this agreement, the flocks that are speckled spotted, and brown in color will be Jacob’s.  Jacob fashioned rods of poplar, hazel, and chestnut tree to be speckled and spotted. When the strong pregnant flocks come to drink water, Jacob will display the rods he has fashioned so that these flock will be looking on these rods as they drink water. Eventually, these strong flocks will give birth to flocks that are speckled, spotted, and brown. However, when pregnant flocks that are weak came to drink Jacob did not display the rods before them and they gave birth to flocks that were not speckled, spotted, or brown.
