“The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.” Psalm 23:1(NLT)
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a
living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be
conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may
prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Rom.12:1-2
The third way God guides his children is through the voice of the Holy Spirit. Unlike the
voice of your spirit, the voice of the Holy Spirit is a more authoritative voice. “While Peter
thought about the vision, the Spirit said to him, “Behold, three men are seeking you. Arise, therefore, go down and go with them, doubting nothing; for I have sent them.” Acts 10:19-
- “But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, “Be of good cheer, Paul; for as
you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome.” Acts
23:11 “Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.” Acts 8:29. “As
they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, “Now separate to Me
Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Acts 13:2,
Though God can guide you this way it is not the usual way He guides His children, especially in things that personally concern you. As mentioned earlier the Spirit and the
Word agree. If the voice you hear is from the Holy Spirit it must agree with the word of
God. We are instructed to test the spirits which is the same as testing every voice you
hear to know where it is coming from. “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the
spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the
world.” 1 John 4:1. This is because Satan, as a deceiver, tries to imitate God in his
attempts to mislead God’s children. “But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises
himself as an angel of light.” 2Cor.11:14
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Your faith may not prevent every mountain but your faith can move every mountain.
