THE PRACTICE OF HIS PRESENCE Part 8

“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name
Immanuel,” which is translated, as “God with us.” Matt.1:23
God is faithful. “Therefore, know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps
covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His
commandments;” Deut. 7:9 To fellowship with Him requires that you be faithful. “Who may
worship in your sanctuary, LORD? Who may enter your presence on your holy hill?……. Those who
despise flagrant sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the LORD, and keep their promises
even when it hurts.’ Psalm 15:1,4 NLT. This scripture tells us that one of the requirements of the
one who will fellowship with God is being faithful to keep your promises even when it hurts to do
so. Abraham was a man who enjoyed fellowship with God so much that God called him His
friend. “And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted
to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.” James 2:23. The scripture calls
him faithful Abraham. “So, then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.”
Galatians 3:9. God found him faithful and hence the basis for fellowship between them was
established. The faithfulness of God motivated Abraham’s faithfulness. “He did not waver at the
promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being
fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.” Rom.4:20-21. You
cannot be truly faithful to God until you are fully persuaded (convinced beyond any doubt) that
God is faithful and powerful enough to do what He has promised to do.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
“For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts
are fully committed to him. You have done a foolish thing, and from now on you will be at
war.” 2Chron.16:9.
