SPIRITUAL GROWTH Part 8

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Gal.5:22-23.

Joy is another fruit of the spirit. Just like other fruits of the Spirit, the seed of joy is
implanted in every believer by the Holy Spirit when He comes into a believer at new
birth. This joy is not dependent on your circumstances at anytime in your life. Any body
can manifest happiness when things are going well for him or her. When a man is
expressing joy in the midst of storm that can only be the fruit if the spirit.
The seed of joy should be watered by the Word of God and a decision to live out the
Word of God despite the circumstances.
“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an
opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has
a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be
perfect and complete, needing nothing.” James 1:2-4 NLT.
To allow this seed of Joy to fully express itself in your life in all circumstances of life
you must make a decision to do the following:
 See every trial as an opportunity to rejoice even when your body and flesh is
hurting and your mind/head is filled with trepidation. This opportunity comes
almost every day in the life of every person. However, an opportunity can do you
nothing until you take it.
 See every trouble as a trial of your faith. In other words, every trouble or storm of
life is an opportunity to prove that the word of God works and for your faith to
grow. Every victory you win in such situation strengthens your faith and
confidence. That is the fight of faith we are instructed to fight.
 See every trial of your faith as an opportunity for your patience, which is another
fruit of the spirit, to grow. Patience and faith work together. When your patience is
fully developed you will be matured and will not lack any good thing.
“You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right
hand are pleasures forevermore.” Psalm 16:11. Joy attracts the flow/presence/power of
God to deliver to you the help you need.

Thought for the week

It is not the quantity but the quality of faith that gets the job done. Faith is measured not
by its size but by its quality. It is the quality that makes faith great or small. Fear and
doubt when tolerated will contaminate faith.
