SPIRITUAL GROWTH Part 15

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Gal.5:22-23. KJV

In some versions of the Bible, Faith is translated as faithfulness. Both are linked
together. Our faith in God is anchored on the faithfulness of God Our faithfulness is our
response to God’s faithfulness.

Faithfulness is an attribute of God. As your relationship with God grows so will your
faithfulness grow. The knowledge we have of God will influence our relationship with
Him. When we have the right knowledge of God we will be drawn closer to Him. This
will in turn encourage us to trust Him more.

God reveals Himself through His word. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word
was with God, and the Word was God.”
John 1:1. One of the ministries of the Holy Spirit
is to reveal the true knowledge of God in His Word to us. “that the God of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the
knowledge of Him,”
Eph.1:17. “But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor
have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who
love Him.” But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all
things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the
spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the
Spirit of God.”
1Cor.2:9-11.
As we fellowship with Holy Spirit, study and meditate on the
Word of God we grow in our knowledge of God, and our faithfulness grows.

Faithfulness is also built on the track record of God as revealed in His word and our
personal experiences with Him. The track record of God is characterized by
faithfulness. Knowledge of this truth motivates one to stay faithful.

When a man is faithful, God can trust him to reveal His secrets to him. This was why
God revealed to Abraham the impending destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and why
God revealed to Daniel the end time events.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Flesh will sacrifice the gain of tomorrow for the pleasures of today. Faith will sacrifice the
pleasures of today for the gain of tomorrow.
