AN ESTABLISHED HEART. Part 2

“Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the
heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have
been occupied therein.”
Heb.13:9

To be established connotes stability, being rooted, unshakable or something that has
stood the test of time. Therefore, an established heart cannot be unsettled by any
circumstances or storm of life. It is an established heart that will see and experience the
manifest power and presence of God. “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted
among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Psalm 46:10.
To be still is to be
unshaken by what you see, hear, smell or feel.

Whether your heart is established or not depends on where your confidence is. “So we
fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary,
but what is unseen is eternal.”
2COR.4:18. NLT.
That which is seen is subject to change
while what is unseen is permanent. It is only God that is unchangeable. ““For I am the
LORD, I do not change; Therefore, you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.”
Malachi 3:6.
On the other hand man can and do change. “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is
not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has
he ever promised and not carried it through?”
Numbers 23:19 NLT. Things, including
riches change, “Will you set your eyes on that which is not? For riches certainly make
themselves wings; They fly away like an eagle toward heaven.”
Prov.23:5. “Command
those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in
wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with
everything for our enjoyment.”
1Tim.6:17,

When your confidence is on that which is subject to change you become unsettled when
that object of your confidence changes. On the other hand, when your confidence is in
God, you will not be unsettled because of changes in circumstances in and around you
because God who is the source of your confidence does not change.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
You cannot spend time with the Father God, with the Lord Jesus Christ, with the Holy
Spirit and with the Holy written Word without partaking in their stability and their
unshakableness. —-Kenneth E. Hagin.
