ALL KINDS OF PRAYERS Part 4

“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Eph.6:18

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” John 15:7

The different kinds of prayer have different rules that guides them. Let’s look some of them.

The prayer of faith is the prayer to change things and to have your needs met like healing, finances, salvation and receiving the Holy Ghost baptism. This is the prayer that you pray when you know the will of God concerning that particular need. The will of God is revealed in His word. The first thing you should do before praying this or any other kind of prayer is to spend time and find out what the word of God says about the need in question. Find what God has promised you concerning that need. Meditate on those promises until faith arises in your heart.

Then standing on the promises of God concerning that need pray in faith in line with the word of God. “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” James 1:5-8. “And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Matt.21:22.

After you have prayed and claimed the promises of God concerning that need believe that you have received it. “Therefore, I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24. The manifestation may take time. Between the time you said amen and the time what you have prayed for manifests there is a time interval that may range from minutes to years. The longer it takes the more the pressure to entertain unbelief in your thoughts, utterances or actions. You must resist this pressure with the word of God. Because you believe that you received your answer when you prayed this prayer of faith the first time, this prayer should not be prayed twice.

Prayer of faith will work for you and sometimes for baby Christians. This will likely not work in your prayers for other people or older Christians who remain spiritual babies because you cannot push your will on them. You need another kind of prayer of prayer in such situations.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” 1Cor.10:13.

You will never face anything that God has not graced you to overcome.
