“And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an
help meet for him….. And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a
woman, and brought her unto the man.” Genesis 2:18,22.
One of the assignments God gave to man when He created man was to be fruitful and
multiply. “God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the
earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every
living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:28 NIV. For man to fulfil this
assignment he needed a partner. This must be not just any kind of creature but the right
kind of creature (not even a fellow man) that will help man fulfill what he was created
for.
Every person has an assignment he or she was born for. You can call it purpose or
destiny. You need someone or some people in your life who will help you accomplish
this assignment. Are you a bachelor or spinster looking for a life partner. The first goal
is to discover your God given purpose. It is dangerous to marry someone that does not
know where he or she is going or was born for.
Having discovered your purpose in life the next prayer should be for God to bring into
your life the life partner that will help you fulfil that assignment. This is praying in line
with God’s will. When you sincerely pray and desire in this manner your answer will be
speedy in manifestation. Note that it is God that gave the assignment to Adam. It was
also God who was eager to ensure that Adam has a help suitable for him to carry out
this assignment. Adam did not struggle or worry about it. God brought the help meet for
Adam to him. God knows how to do the connection. However, He can do nothing
unless you Him through prayer. When you desire and ask right you will be surprised how
speedily the answer comes.
The above principle does not only apply to getting a life partner, it also applies to other
areas of life and ministry provided the assignment is God given. The problem is when
we are pursuing our own purpose and expect God to bless what He has not authored.
