“Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the
heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have
been occupied therein.” Heb.13:9
Therefore, sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of
the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the seashore innumerable. These all
died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were
persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and
pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a
country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out,
they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country,
that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath
prepared for them a city.” Heb.11:12-16.
The sixth mark of a man with an established heart is that he not only does not talk like
the world, he neither think not act like the world because he recognizes that his
citizenship is not of this world. He is a doer of the word of God and obeys these
instructions: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect
will of God.” Rom.12:2. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and
supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace
of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through
Christ Jesus.” Phil.4:6-7. He understands that God is interested in giving us things but
does not want things having us. He understands that God is big enough to take care of
him, He sets his heart on things above unlike the people of the world that set their
hearts on the things on this earth. As a result, he is free of the anxiety, insecurity,
competition and comparison that mark the people of this world.
