AN ESTABLISHED HEART. Part 6

“Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the
heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have
been occupied therein.” Heb.13:9
Therefore, sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of
the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the seashore innumerable. These all
died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were
persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and
pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a
country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out,
they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country,
that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath
prepared for them a city.” Heb.11:12-16.

Last week we began looking at some important components of an established heart.
The first component is that an established heart is fully convinced on the faithfulness of
God to keep His promises. The second component is that an established heart is
patient and will not let go of his faith no matter how long it takes for the promise to be
fulfilled. “Therefore, the Lord GOD says this, “Listen carefully, I am laying in Zion a
Stone, a tested Stone, A precious Cornerstone for the [secure] foundation, firmly placed.
He who believes [who trusts in, relies on, and adheres to that Stone] will not be
disturbed or give way [in sudden panic].” Isaiah 28:16 AMP.
The third component is that an established heart sees from a distance or afar off what
God has promised. They see the reality of that intangible promise not with the physical
eyesight but their spiritual insight. They see themselves walking in the reality of those
promises. We see this in the way God directed Abraham. “And the LORD said to Abram,
after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you
are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give
to you and your descendants forever.” Gen.13:14-15.
The land God promised Abraham and his descendants is far larger that what his natural
eyes could see from one place implying that this is a spiritual and not a physical vision.
After instructing Abraham to see, God then told him to walk through the land he has
seen implying that you see in your spirit before physical possession. “Arise, walk in the
land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.” Gen.13:17
