FAITH COMPANIONS Part 1

“In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” James 2:17
NIV
“So also, faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by
itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).” James 2:17 AMPC.
It is not enough to have faith or believe in God to do something. Faith that produces the
desired result has companions. Without those companions’ faith is devoid of power or
is dead. These faith companions include action, voice or spoken, love and patience.
“And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his
mother’s womb, who never had walked: The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly
beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed, Said with a loud voice, Stand
upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.” Acts 14:8-10. KJV. This crippled man had
faith to be healed but remained a cripple until he put action to his faith by standing up in
response to Paul’s inspired instruction. If he did not back his faith with the
corresponding action, he would have left that meeting still a cripple. Faith comes by
hearing (Romans 10:17) but faith is not released by hearing the word. Faith is released
by corresponding action. If you are sick and believing God for healing begin to act as if
you are healed. In any area of need that you are trusting God for provision begin to
release your faith by taking actions that corresponds to your faith concerning that thing.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Develop your relationship with the Lord. Your relationship with Him is more important
than what you do for Him. You can supposedly be working for Him and yet not have a
relationship with Him. However, you cannot have an intimate relationship with Him and
not be working for Him.
