“Sing, O barren, You who have not borne! Break forth into singing, and cry aloud, You who have not labored with child! For more are the children of the desolate Than the children of the married woman,” says the LORD. “Enlarge the place of your tent, And let them stretch out the curtains of your dwellings; Do not spare; Lengthen your cords, And strengthen your stakes. For you shall expand to the right and to the left, And your descendants will inherit the nations, And make the desolate cities inhabited”. Isaiah 54:1-3
In this scripture, God made a promise that looks naturally impossible, a desolate woman having more children than the married. As if that is not enough, He went on to promise the desolate that her children shall inherit nations. God is famous for making champions out of failure and lifting a man from obscurity to prominence. He is famous for giving us dreams and visions that are beyond our natural ability and resources to accomplish. In fact, if your dreams can be accomplished by your natural ability and resources that dream or vision is not likely from God. The reason God gives us visions beyond our natural ability is because He wants us to depend on Him and exercise faith in Him as He cannot share His glory with anyone.
Depending on God and exercising faith in God is not a passive thing. In James 2:26 we understand that faith without corresponding action is dead. God made a promise of multiplying the children of the barren and desolate woman. He went further to instruct her to make preparation to receive the increase that is coming her way. If you are believing God for something begin ahead of time to prepare to receive what you are believing God for. God is the one that gives us the power to be successful. “Remember the LORD your God. He is the one who gives you the power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath”.Deut 8:18. This power to be successful comes through opportunities. When opportunities come it is too late to prepare. Get ready for the opportunity before it comes. Noah started building the ark years before there was any drop of rain talk less of a flood. He believed that God will do what He has promised to do and went into work building the ark.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
When opportunities come it is too late to prepare. So get ready now for what you are believing in God or what God is telling you.
